Frequently Asked Questions
What Are the Different Ways to Work With You?
All of my work is personalized- every session, every practice, every pace.
Below are three pathways, but we’ll always tailor them to you.
Somatic Recovery Sessions: For nervous systems in survival mode- shutdown, overwhelm, anxiety.
Think of these like meeting a personal trainer for your nervous system. Yes, they can be a short-term series to get you regulated and grounded. But many clients choose to keep them going- weekly, bi-weekly, or whenever life ramps up- because the structure feels supportive. We use breath, movement, and other body-based tools to release stored survival energy and rebuild safety.
Somatic Integration Sessions: For when you’re ready to move past symptom management and into transformation.
These sessions help you explore deeper emotional patterns, shift unconscious beliefs, and embody your healing. Unlike the 3-month immersion program, which meets weekly, Somatic Integration Sessions are scheduled based on what works best for you- some people come every week, others bi-weekly or as needed. Each session is customized to what’s alive in your body that day.
If you’re looking for more structure and steady momentum, Reclaim You: a 3 Month Immersion, may be a better fit. The weekly rhythm allows us to go deeper, stay consistent, and build on the work without losing connection between sessions.
3-Month Immersion Program: For when you’re ready to go all-in.
This is a high-touch, structured mentorship. We meet weekly, with between-session support and practices built just for you. Over three months, we move through both recovery and embodiment- building regulation, reclaiming your voice, and living from your truth.
This program is designed intentionally.
The rhythm of weekly sessions creates consistency, which helps us go deeper, stay connected, and keep the momentum going. It’s different from scheduling one session at a time- it becomes a container you can trust.
You’re not just dipping in and out of healing.
You’re living it.
And you’re supported every step of the way.
What Does a Session Look Like?
Each session is shaped by two things:
The kind of work we’re doing- whether it’s recovery, integration, or long-term mentorship
What your body is actually ready for that day
Somatic Recovery Sessions
These sessions usually happen on a mat or in a chair- think trauma-informed yoga or gentle somatic movement therapy. We use breath, movement, and grounding practices to help your body release stored stress or survival energy.
You might come in with something specific- like jaw tension, panic, digestive issues, or just a sense of stuckness- and we’ll build a practice around that. These sessions are more physical and tend to be quiet, grounding, and deeply felt.
Somatic Integration Sessions
These start more conversational. We explore what’s coming up- maybe a trigger, relationship dynamic, or emotional block- and look at what patterns your nervous system is holding. From there, we move into a body-based practice to help release that stored energy and integrate whatever insights come through.
This is where we start connecting the dots- body, heart, and head.
Reclaim You: a 3-Month Immersion
This is where everything comes together. One week might feel like a deep dive conversation, another might focus on movement or ritual. Because we meet weekly and tailor the process to you, the experience is layered and intentional.
Over time, we explore themes like boundaries, voice, self-trust, ancestral patterns- and we walk the whole path of healing, from survival to embodiment.
Which Session Should I Choose?
Start with Somatic Recovery if you’re in overwhelm, anxiety, shutdown, or chronic stress- and you need help getting your system back online. These sessions help you stabilize, reconnect, and feel safe and empowered in your body again.
Choose Somatic Integration if you’re ready to look deeper- at the trauma, triggers, patterns, and cycles that keep repeating. This is where we start rewiring things. Where healing stops being a concept and becomes something you live - in real time- through your voice, choices, and presence.
Apply for Reclaim You if you’re done dipping your toe in and ready to commit to real transformation - not just change. You want structure, consistency, and deep support. Reclaim You isn’t just a series of sessions- it’s a container for your transformation. If Somatic Integration is the bridge, Reclaim You is the whole journey.
How is this different from traditional healing work?
Most traditional healing models—whether therapy, coaching, or wellness practices—tend to focus on either the mind or the body. This work doesn’t separate the two.
What makes this approach unique is that it’s rooted in the language of the nervous system. We’re not just talking about what happened or trying to think our way through the pain. And we’re definitely not pushing mindset shifts that bypass what your body is still carrying.
Instead, we learn to listen- to the subtle cues, the stuck places, the survival strategies that once kept you safe. We respond with presence, not pressure. And we create real shifts in real time.
This isn’t about fixing yourself.
It’s about returning to yourself.
To a body that feels like home again-or maybe for the first time.
Here’s how this work stands apart:
We follow your body, not a protocol.
We move at the pace of your nervous system, not the pace of performance.
We don’t just process trauma- we complete the responses your body never got to finish.
We don’t strive to "fix" you- we support your return to wholeness.
This is healing that includes your breath, your body, your boundaries, your lineage, and your truth. It's not about doing more. It's about doing differently.
A Holistic, Empowering Approach
I am deeply passionate about empowering you to reconnect with your strengths and live with confidence, purpose, and freedom. Through a holistic approach that addresses the body, mind, and spirit, we will explore and release trauma at its root.
Each session is responsive, intuitive, and grounded in the body. Depending on your needs, we may draw from:
What might we do in a session?
Somatic Experiencing™ : Tracking body sensations to process unresolved, stored trauma.
Breath Training: restoring regulation through nervous system-based breathwork.
Strength-Based Movement: rebuilding safety through embodied power.
Expressive Arts & Movement: accessing emotion and truth through creative flow and impulse.
Self-Defense & Boundary Work: embodying boundaries and reclaiming agency.
Family Constellations: unraveling intergenerational trauma patterns.
Sessions are collaborative, deeply respectful, and trauma-informed. You set the pace. I walk with you.
Is this therapy?
No- and also yes.
This work is deeply therapeutic, but it lives outside the clinical model. I’m not a licensed therapist, and that’s intentional. I chose not to pursue licensure because I believe in decolonizing therapy- meeting real people in real life, not just in an office or on a screen.
Sometimes we’ll sit. Sometimes we’ll move. Sometimes we’ll breathe, hike, scream, laugh, cry, or say nothing at all.
What we do is shaped by what’s needed- not by a diagnosis or a billable code.
Some of my clients do work with therapists alongside this process.
And many find that once they reconnect with themselves and begin to trust their body again, they no longer feel the need to continue talk therapy- or any other modality.
Not because healing is “done,”
but because it’s finally integrated.
They’re no longer outsourcing their power.
They’re living it.
Is this coaching?
Not the kind you're probably used to.
This isn’t about performance, productivity, or chasing goals.
We’re not tracking stats, numbers, or timelines.
We’re not comparing your process to anyone else’s.
That said- we do acknowledge progress.
We celebrate milestones when they arise.
We name the shifts when they happen.
But we do it in your language, on your terms, and in your body’s time.
This isn’t about becoming someone better.
It’s about becoming more you.
And doing it in a way that feels grounded, real, and sustainable.
This is a body-first, root-level process.
It’s not about striving.
It’s about returning.
What if I’ve never done somatic work before?
You don’t need any experience.
Many people come to this work after other approaches haven’t gotten to the root. If you’re new, we start slow. I’ll help you build body awareness, attunement, and a sense of safety- from the ground up.
We don’t force anything.
We listen.
We follow what’s ready, and we leave the rest.
Your body sets the pace. Always.
Do you work in-person or virtually?
Right now, I offer sessions virtually and outdoors (hike sessions).
Office-based in-person sessions are currently on pause while I transition spaces.
Whether we’re on Zoom or walking a trail, the work doesn’t change. It’s still present, attuned, and embodied.
Still unsure?
That’s okay. Curiosity is not only welcome, but encouraged here.
You don’t need to be certain to start.
You’re always invited to reach out, ask questions, or book a single session to see how the work feels in your body.
Notes from clients
“Thank you for a powerful session yesterday! I wanted to check in with you about how the breathing exercise is going... Last night I actually experienced joy. I have very infrequently been able to access joy for a long time. I tried the exercise again this morning, and knowing the propensity to not just be with myself and be comforted by it, I intentionally did that and then went for a walk and I am feeling really good today so far. Thank you for helping me and all you do to bring goodness and healing into the world. Blessings”
“My anxiety has dropped, I’d like to feel it’s thanks to all the tools you’ve given me. I wouldn’t be where I’m at now without all our time together and all your guidance. I love you Julie”
