I’m so glad you’re here!

While I’ve received extensive training in psychology, yoga, Somatic Experiencing™, ancestral medicine, Expressive Arts, Integrative Movement Therapies, and Integrative Nutrition, I believe my most valuable service to others comes from my lived experience.

I blend my personal healing journey with research in somatic healing, neurobiology, psychology, physiology, and family constellations to help people make sense of their experiences- understanding trauma and its impact on the nervous system, relationships, identity, and everyday life.

My approach is holistic and grounded in the belief that our symptoms are not signs of pathology- they are intelligent adaptive responses to overwhelming experiences. I guide clients to reconnect with their bodies as allies, using somatic practices to restore safety, reclaim voice, and rebuild trust.

Over the years, I’ve supported at-risk youth, survivors of sexual and domestic violence, and individuals navigating trauma-related challenges—including eating disorders, anxiety, major depression, dissociation, chronic illness and pain, insomnia, self-harm, and identity-based trauma around gender and sexual orientation.

This work is about reclamation. And I walk it every day.

In addition to offering 1:1 sessions and mentorship programs through my private practice, I serve as the Lead Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Trainer and Director of Curriculum Development & Mentorship for Exhale to Inhale, a nonprofit organization empowering survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through trauma-informed yoga- a practice that helps survivors reconnect with their bodies, breath, and resilience..

Hi again!

I’m Julie Fernandez

My Journey

I come from a lineage of women deeply impacted by intergenerational trauma- addiction, violence, and sexual abuse. I experienced ongoing sexual abuse throughout my childhood and adolescence, which shaped how I moved through life for decades: with anxiety, disconnection, illness, and codependent patterns.

But healing is possible.

With support, I began to feel safe inside myself again. I rebuilt my relationship with my body. I reclaimed my voice. I let go of the patterns of self-sacrifice and began to live in my truth- not in response to trauma, but in service to freedom.

After decades of living dissociated, I am now grounded, present, embodied. I no longer feel like I need to hide. I belong- to myself, in this body, in this world.

How I Show Up for You

My lived experiences allow me to meet you exactly where you are- with no judgment, no agenda. I embody the work I guide others through: reconnection, reclamation, and the quiet power of healing at your own pace.

My practice isn’t about performance or perfection. It’s about liberation.

Whether we work together in a single session or walk the path of deeper mentorship, I’ll hold space for you to return- to your body, your truth, your life.

The Origin of Metta

Before this work became Reclaim You, it began as Metta Healing Arts.

I chose the name Metta back in 2012, drawn to its meaning: loving-kindness, compassion, and presence. That energy still lives in everything I do: the tenderness, the slowness, the sacred pause.

But over time, the work evolved- because I evolved.

This isn’t just about holding space. It’s about reclaiming it.
It’s not just about healing. It’s about rising.

The foundation is still Metta. But now it’s rooted in something deeper:
Voice. Truth. Embodiment. Power.

Call it an evolution. Call it a return.

Either way, this is where I’ve landed.
Welcome.
